Plovdiv Bulgaria



Plovdiv Bulgaria is most certainly worth a visit.

It is the second largest city and is truly a city for all seasons. Covered in a thick blanket of snow over winter, Plovdiv becomes a fabulous winter wonderland and home for skiers and snowboarders, and in the spring, the city blooms with flowers and verdant green foliage. Plovdiv Bulgaria

But no matter which season you choose to visit Plovdiv, there is plenty to see and do.

In the nations second last city there is an ancient city full of rich history and fascinating culture.

Parts of it date back thousands of years and today, the medieval and Thracian remnants are seamlessly interwoven with the modern architecture.

There are actually two parts of the city. The old part is an architectural museum reserve and contains more than one hundred houses dating from the National Revival period, many of which have been converted into restaurants, shops, and galleries.

Renowned visitor attractions include the house of Chomaka, a gallery that showcases the work of the famous Bulgarian artist, Zlatyo Boyajiev; and the house of Georgiadi, which contains the Renaissance museum of the national struggle. Modern attractions include the international Sports Centre and the Plovdiv Zoo.

Plovdiv plays host to the International Fair, an iconic event dating back to 1892. Every May and September, exhibitors and visitors come from all over the world to take part in this prestigious celebration and enjoy a taste of Bulgaria.

Beautiful cobbled streets and babbling fountains are all part of the charm that is Plovdiv.

The city has its own unique and unforgettable atmosphere and any trip to Bulgaria would not be complete without a visit to beautiful Plovdiv.
