Currency exchanges are rife in Bulgaria, and, previously there was little or no ID required to change money. The laws have since changed to combat money laundering. Visas As Bulgaria is now a member of the EU, visas aren't required for European Union members visiting Bulgaria.For US, Canadian & American citizens only a tourist visa is required for stays of less than 30 days.
