Bulgarian wine

There are spendid vineyard tours through this rich Balkan land, and many grapes to be enjoyed....

Its a little known secret that Bulgaria produces some of the best wines in Europe, and some excellent locally brewed beers in each reigon.

If you get the chance you also should try the food in Bulgaria.

You can visit some of the best wine-producing regions in the country and taste typical Bulgarian wine of high-quality like the Mavrud, Melnik and Gamza brands, and will also sample some excellent brands of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Traminer and Chardonnay.

You can take a tour and on these tours there will usually be a chance for walking in the mountains to admire natural scenery and beauty, as well as for visiting historical sites.

There is also an opportunity to combine a food and wine tour with a tour of the monasteries to really experience some of the rich tour of the monasteries to really experience some of the rich Bulgarian culture.

You should also definitely try the original local grape and plum brandies (‘rakiya'), usually served as a starter (‘aperitif') combined with abundant salads of fresh vegetables and white cheese, another solid Bulgarian tradition.

Warning – Rakiya is pretty strong stuff!!!!!

Food and Wine Tasting Tours are available individually if that takes your fancy. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the quality of the wine in Bulgaria.

Bulgarians take their grape picking and wine making rituals pretty seriously!!!
