Bulgaria Ski Resorts - choose a dream ski resort, a charming chalet, hotel or hostel

Bulgaria Ski Accomodation

Bulgaria Ski Resorts are easy to find. Wherever you choose to stay during your ski holiday, no doubt you’ll feel a good mixture of the modern and traditional bulgarian spirit.

Whether it will be the smell of an old wooden chalet and the warmth of the fire place, or a modern hotel with central heating and steamy windows from the wet ski clothes, carelessly thrown on the radiator to dry out (while you’re in a mad rush to go out and get a taste of the night life) you’ll find yourself in a pleasant environment, surrounded by polite staff, who will make your stay unforgettable (one way or another).

There are many good reasons to ski Bulgaria. Here are just a few. .......

Bulgaria Ski Resorts

You can find an abundance of Bulgaria ski resorts on your holiday. Its just a question of which type of accomodation to choose!!

1. Chalets

There are various types of accomodation. All over Bulgaria ski resorts can be found. People seeking privacy might prefer the isolated Chalets, you pay a friendly fee and hire the whole chalet (it’s a bargain if you get it in a package deal and quite expensive if you decide to rent it seperately).

The chance of seeing a polar bear in the Bulgarian tundra is higher than the chance of seeing the person who cleans your chalet, but nevertheless, miracles do happen...

When you come back from a long hard day of endless effort to dodge trees on the runs, you can find yourself in a nice clean place that you think is your neighbours (because the mess you left this morning is gone and there’s fresh air and neatness all ).

Considering the privacy issue, chalets are usually located far from the night life, be prepared to pay for a taxi there (wherever is that you wanna go) and back every night.

2. Hotels

Hotels! Good old hotels!

In Bulgaria they are all fairly new you see... we discovered tourism not long ago, it’s like the gold rush in Alaska, now everyone’s mad about building those massive pretty and modern 3 to 5 star hotels, there surely more hotels than seats on a chairlifts and we can evacuate a small African country and fit them in the accomodations Pamporovo + Borovets + Bansko ski hotels in a case of emergency!

Hotels are usually located in the center of it all, so the cheap drinks are only a walking distance away, and a crawling distance back, taxi is not needed.

Cheap deals, early deals, late deals, all kinds of deals in Bulgaria. There’s always deals, so keep your eyes and ears open but don’t worry if you miss something, there’s always a greater deal that follows.

P.S. – Don’t expect quiet nights, the vibes of the night club in the basement of your hotel will be felt in the frames of your windows.

2. Family Hotels

Family hotels. Now this is the real thing. If you’re a backpacker or you prefer to book your holiday seperately, or you have friends, that have invited you to ski with them, but you feel uncomfortable falling through their door at 4 am, enchanted from the Rakia (Bulgarian brandy) and breaking half the valuable posessions in the entrance then crashing in a bedroom that next morning you discover your friend’s parents - you’re better of staying at a family hotel. Our tip is to lay off the Rakia or else you may find yourself crazy skiing the Bulgarian slopes.

Excellent conditions, neat, clean, warm, and a friendly Bulgarian family to look after you, if they think you’re cool enough they might even invite you to eat and drink with them. You have your own room in a big family house, usually your own bathroom + WC and maybe a little kitchen which is so convenient for people discovering they are not too keen on what’s served in restaurants.

Location – nearest residential area to the ski hill, don’t be a tourist, blend with the locals.
